Chocolate Raspberry Mini Heart Pies

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg pre-made pie crusts
  • 1 jar raspberry preserves
  • 1 pkg mini chocolate chips (as desired)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • course sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Cut the pie crusts with a heart cookie cutter.
  2. Add a spoonful of the preserves to the middle of the heart and spread slightly in the shape of the heart. Don’t get too close to the edges and don’t overfill.
  3. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips onto the preserves. (as desired)
  4. Brush egg wash onto the second heart. Place over the filled heart and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  5. Move to a baking pan and brush the tops with more egg wash. Sprinkle with the sugar crystals and bake at 375 for approx 15 minutes or until golden.

Notes

You can use any type of preserves you like.
Strawberry is also nice for Valentine’s day!
